We have to change our thinking.
I’ve made it a point to go certified organic with the foods I buy. I go to farmer’s markets and support this local economy here in southern California. I think it’s more than changing out bulbs; we have to change our thinking. But one by one, we are. Even my mother, who came of age in the 50s, is seeing that this is a reality, and that’s encouraging.

I can still make an impact.
I have changed all of my light bulbs – I recycle everything (my garbage night is much smaller now)I have put insulation around my hot water tank – I’ve installed new windows and doors and new furnace (energy efficient)I don’t use my car to make unnecessary trips and I have a 2000 Honda Civic very fuel efficient – it really upsets me to see all of the SUV’s on the road in this country – it’s really sad.
I have been recycling for many years and seeing your film makes me happy to see even though I am one person that I can still make an impact.
Thank you for developing such a film that has tremendously impacted my life. I think it should be mandatory for everyone to see this film including the kids in school – this is not only our future but theirs. Thank you again!!!

We are destroying our grandkids world, before they are born.
I watched your film on the Sundance channel. I am telling everyone I know to watch it and Pass It On. We are selling our 2nd car (Ford F150). We carpool into work, but we’re going back to riding our bikes to our jobs (7 miles away). We do not drive her Volvo ANYWHERE, unless we can stop at other places on the way (and NEVER over the speed limits).
My in-laws grew up in the Depression. They are teaching us how to make a Victory garden in our large backyard. My family and friends think I am obsessed with Peak Oil, but I do not care. It’s here. The purchase of Foreign Oil has to stop. This Planet is doomed if we do not get out of this hole. We are destroying our grandkids world, before they are born.

We’ll keep doing what we can.
Watched the movie once. Will watch again. Our family down to one car. Replaced light bulbs. Use far less water. Replacing remaining car with bicycles for the family and taking the bus. Want to do more. My 12 year old daughter said, “They should show this in school. A person came in but they did not have any detail like this movie Mom.” Today is her first day of summer vacation. We are watching Crude Impact and Wal-Mart High Cost of Low Price. I’m born and grew up in Alaska. Been all over. Want to do more. We clean up the beach when we go, throwing trash away. We don’t leave a footprint if we go to the mountains. Walk to grocery shop, do our banking, library, to school, to the lake & park, to play tennis. We buy used and second hand instead of new when we can.
Wish there was a place here we could grow our own garden foods. How does one buy local when there are no local markets in Everett? We take less showers and turn off the shower in-between scrubbing up to conserve. It seems like you have to be wealthy to do more. We live in an apartment… what more can we do? How can we get our neighbors to conserve and consume less? It would be great to live on a ranch and grow everything and all that, but who has money to buy land these days? Loved the movie. Wish Robert Redford would invite us to the ranch to work and live
My daughter is crazy about horses and wants to be a horse trainer. Anyway, thank you Sundance for this wonderful movie. We’ll watch it again and keep talking as a family about what we can do. Any ideas on the best bicycles to get?
… we’ll keep doing what we can. Environmentalist at heart, hate to see us consume and waste it all for momentary pleasure at others expense and well-being.

I ride my bike to work three times a week.
I ride my bike to work three times a week. It’s about 50 miles roundtrip. And I do it in the city that drives like no other: Los Angeles.
My wife and I are also replacing light bulbs with CFs and have updated all of our appliances. We have no A/C and instead use fans. We combine trips when we run errands.
I am trying to get her to rip out the back lawn and plant a vegetable garden.

I share my knowledge and passion with every person who will listen to me.
I was touched by this film, the section on Texaco in Ecuador actually brought a tear to my eye. As a geology/geography student this subject is very important to me. I first became interested in this subject in 2003 when I first learned about biodiesel fuel. I immediately put my newer, reliable car up for sale to purchase an old diesel powered car so I could fuel it with waste cooking oil.
While doing this I received a lot of attention from people in my community, and was able to educate them about the ability of every vehicle on the road to burn fuels grown by local farmers. I have since converted two other cars to burn ethanol fuel, and I am now in the process of building an electric bicycle with an expected range of 75 miles, an expected top speed of 35 MPH, and the ability to be charged with solar or wind power. In the spirit of the “tag, you’re it” motto, I share my knowledge and passion with every person who will listen to me.

Yes your movie affected two people dramatically!
My wife and I watched the movie and it impacted us so much that we took action immediately! We changed the light fixtures in the house, cut down on consumption of fuel we use and basically took an inventory of our household. We were shocked to say the least. My wife and I are thinking of having a house built using alternative energy sources, mainly solar power. Yes your movie affected two people dramatically!

My husband and I do what we can to support environmental efforts.
Last night I tuned in to Free Speech TV and had the good fortune to see your film “Crude Impact: Sneak Peek. I was so impressed I had to see if it was available for purchase. I am so glad to find on the internet that it is. So, I have just ordered it.
Thank you for all your hard work in putting together such an informative and motivating film. Every person in the world, and especially in this country, should see this film. I hope to have friends and family see it and hope that they will be inspired to inform their friends and family about it as well. My husband and I do what we can to support environmental efforts. We have solar panels on our roof, we recycle, we try to buy products in glass or cans, we keep our cars for over 15 years, we don’t own boats or snowmobiles, I chose not to have children, we feed birds and put up blue bird boxes, etc.
Anyway, thank you again for a great film

Crude Impact is a spectacular and insightful documentary. One cannot see this without being stirred into a behavior change. Nice work.
